Owen Sound Arctic Foxes
Snowshoeing in Special Olympics is a winter sport that combines aerobic activity with the ease of walking over snow without sinking. It is an inclusive activity for all ages and is part of the Arctic Winter Games and the winter Special Olympics. Athletes participate in various races, including traditional and unified pairs, and are divided by ability level to ensure balanced competition. Special Olympics promotes fundamental values such as inclusion, respect, determination, and joy, making snowshoeing a vital part of the organization's mission to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports and community engagement.
